A lush, verdant landscape
Your tour begins with a 12-mile scenic drive through Wrangell, before heading into the Tongass National Forest where you'll enjoy a guided hike amid the lush rainforest.
This trek takes you along a boardwalk trail beneath towering Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock and Alaska Yellow Cedar, surrounded by mist-covered ferns and moss. As you hike through the world’s largest temperate rainforest, listen for the distinctive sounds of eagles and woodpeckers, and keep watch for deer, black and brown bears, porcupines, and more. Throughout your journey, your guide will share insight on Łingít life and traditions, from berry harvesting to weaving and hunting.

Remarks/requirements: Please dress in layers, a waterproof coat is recommended. Guests are required to use trekking poles as the trail may be slippery.
Walking or Activity information: Involves a high level of physical activity over an extended period, in terrain that may often be uneven, slippery and steep. Not suitable if you have limited mobility. Involves approx. 1.2 miles of walking along a narrow boardwalk, mostly stairs.
