A spectacular hike through Patagonian glacial landscapes and native forest.
  • Explore Cerro Benítez, shaped by glaciers and the waves of an ancient paleolake.

  • Look out for Andean condors soaring above the mountains.

  • Walk through ñirre, lenga, and coihue forests and discover Patagonia’s native flora and fauna.

  • Learn about Patagonia’s cultural heritage through mysterious rock paintings at three sites.

This hike takes place at Rupestre Patagonia, a family-run site on Cerro Benítez, 27 km (17 mi) from Puerto Natales. The 8 km (5 mi) trail winds through native ñirre, lenga, and coihue forest and past striking cliffs and caves, leading to the panoramic Sofía Lagoon viewpoint, where you may see Andean condors flying overhead. Along the way, three rock-painting sites offer a glimpse into Patagonia’s ancestral history.
