An authentic fishing experience
Experience traditional life in Lofoten by heading out on the rich coastal waters with an experienced local fisherman.
You'll learn to line fish while your skipper shares insight into this traditional industry and the perseverance of the community here. You’ll even be shown how to prepare your catch. During peak Lofotfisket season, from mid-January to March, you may catch North Atlantic cod as it arrives in the area from the Barents Sea. Outside this season, you may find pollock and haddock.
Practical information
Remarks/requirements: Please wear warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. Hat and gloves are essential. Mandatory floatation suits are provided which can be worn over your jacket and warm layers. No experience is necessary. Each line is shared between 2 people. This tour is dependent on weather and sea conditions. A catch is not always guaranteed but the boat trip itself is an experience for nature and history interest.
Walking or Activity information: Involves moderate physical activity on relatively level surfaces and gentle terrain. Includes a short walk to embark the fishing boat.
