Authentic storytelling
The experience offers a glimpse into the cultural heritage of Gjoa Haven. Hosted by Betty and Sammy Kogvik, you'll gather in a cosy canvas tent, sitting on caribou skins, to listen and share food in the authentic Inuit way.
Sammy will recount his personal story of discovering the wreck of the HMS Terror, a key piece of the lost Franklin expedition. Betty will guide a tea-making session using hand-harvested heather to build a fire and share her knowledge of the land.
