Your day begins with a scenic jet boat trip to the observatory trailhead in the Tongass National Forest. Your guide will lead you through the primeval temperate rainforest to the waterfalls of Anan Creek. This is the place where eagles fly overhead as black and brown bears hunt the returning salmon with their cubs. In nearby bays, you might also find seals, dolphins, orcas and humpback whales.
With strict visitor numbers and the seasonal behaviour of the bears, the spaces for this tour are limited and chosen by a lottery-based draw.

Remarks/requirements: Water and lunch (sandwiches and a snack) are included on the tour; outhouses are available at the trailhead and observatory; raingear, layers, hiking shoes, sun protection, camera, and trekking poles are recommended. The tour is not recommended for children under 7 or people with limited sight or mobility.
