Day 1: Arriving at Quito
Fly from the Galápagos to Quito, where your expedition cruise concludes. We’ll meet you on arrival and transfer you to your airport hotel. For the rest of the day, enjoy some time to relax and unwind before your unforgettable Amazon adventure begins.
Day 2:
After a short, scenic flight over the Andes to Coca, enjoy a two-hour Napo River canoe ride, keeping an eye out for herons, kingfishers, and more wildlife. After a brief walk to Lake Pilchicocha, a canoe takes you to the lodge, where you’ll settle in before a guided night walk or canoe ride to spot nocturnal species.
Day 3-4:
Spend two days exploring the rainforest: walk canopy bridges for birdwatching, visit parrot-filled clay licks, paddle through swamps in search of caiman, anaconda, and capybara, or try piranha fishing. Back at the lodge, unwind with a lake swim or relax in your hammock.
Day 5: Returning to Quito
After breakfast, take a canoe back to Coca for your flight to Quito. You’ll arrive in the early afternoon. From there, your onward journey continues, whether you’re returning home or exploring further. Please note that we may visit sites in a different order.
Important Update: Lodge Substitution
(departures between 30 January - 03 February, 2026)
During the above mentioned dates, Sacha Lodge will be partially replaced by La Selva Lodge. The program remains largely unchanged, offering the same level of guided Amazon exploration, wildlife experiences, and comfort.

Remarks and requirements
This tour is available as a post-voyage option in combination with expedition cruises ending in Quito upon return from the Galápagos Islands.
At the time of booking, please ensure your flight from Balta Island after the expedition cruise has been booked to Quito. If your flight is to Guayaquil, please contact an Expedition Specialist for customer service within 30 days of travel. Your flight from the Galápagos Islands can be changed to Quito at no extra cost.
Lodge bookings will be at the Sacha Lodge, or similar. Please check your booking confirmation to see which lodge you'll be staying at. A supplement may apply.
This tour includes walking on uneven terrain. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
During your stay at the Sacha Lodge, or similar, we may visit local communities. Immediately upon arrival, guests will be asked to contribute $10 USD (cash only, subject to change) to help support the local population.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the post-voyage option up to six weeks before departure.
