The North Cape - Northernmost point
Panoramic view of the North Sea
See, feel and taste King Crab
The tour starts from the town of Honingsvåg, main centre in the North Cape Municipality. On this fun and tasty excursion, you will first be visiting the very outermost point of the European continental shelf - the North Cape. It's located at 71 degrees north and it's a natural highlight on the journey. On the way one travels through a magnificent subarctic landscape. During the months of April until October - if you’re lucky enough – you can see grazing reindeer.
The North Cape plateau rises 309 meters from the North Sea. If weather allows it and when admiring the view, be sure to secure a photo by the Globe. The visitor centre, North Cape Hall is a modern centre where you can enjoy a movie in a panoramic format that shows North Cape and the region through the four seasons. Inside the hall/down the cliff there is a souvenir shop, an ecumenical chapel and a Thai museum. The tour continues to the small little village of Sarnes. Here one will get to enjoy the fascinating Norwegian culture in a King Crab Camp. Meet and take pictures with the king of the Barents Sea, learn about the fascinating King Crab and finally enjoy a delicious taste of the King Crab.
The taste of the crabs will be served in a traditional way, with soft bread, mayonnaise and a slice of lemon. Coffee and tea will also be served. The tour ends at the port of Honningsvåg.
*While we're excited to share the unique flavours of this region with you, it’s important to note that allergy awareness and hygiene standards can vary widely across the world.
