The Antarctic spring and early summer offer some of the continent’s most spectacular sights. There are typically fewer ships visiting Antarctica during this early window, adding to the sense of scale and stillness.
OCTOBER-NOVEMBER
Snow lies fresh across the landscape. Ice formations remain sharply defined, and glaciers appear vast and luminous. Whales start their migration and penguin colonies begin to form with mating and nesting rituals, while seal pups huddle with their parents on the shores.
DECEMBER
Penguin chicks hatch, turning colonies into bustling hubs of attentive parents and needy infants. Whale migration is in full swing. Days are long, giving you even more time to enjoy the stunning views.

You’ll enjoy anniversary menus, a limited-edition wine aged while travelling pole to pole, a signature 1896 cocktail, and commemorative keepsakes. Guests travelling aboard MS Fridtjof Nansen also have the chance to spend a night in our 1896 Cabin, a faithful recreation of a late 19th-century expedition cabin, offering a glimpse into how early explorers travelled.
