First up: Novelist Katie Hale
Katie's latest novel, The Edge of Solitude, was dreamt up on an HX expedition to Antarctica. Now she's returning to sea as our inaugural Artist in Residence, joining the Northwest Passage this September for a 21-day expedition through Arctic Canada and Greenland.

Arctic Canada and Greenland Expedition - Circumnavigating Baffin Bay

The Edge of Solitude
In 2020, Katie Hale sailed to Antarctica with us and returned home carrying the seed of a story about what happens when the places that define our planet begin to disappear. The result is a tense, thought-provoking novel that sits at the intersection of climate crisis and human isolation, asking how we hold on to connection when the world around us is shifting.
