Take an exhilarating jetboat ride down the Stikine River in the Tongass National Forest.
  • Experience a thrilling jetboat ride as you explore the delta and side sloughs of the Stikine River.

  • Get the chance to spot Alaskan wildlife and spawning salmon along the way.

  • Enjoy an onboard lunch of Alaska smoked salmon (or alternative) with cheese and wine.

  • Enter Shakes Lake and see Shakes Glacier if conditions permit.


Jetboat adventure 

Enjoy a thrilling tour of the Stikine River from the seat of a heated and covered jetboat. Learn about the area's gold rush history and spot Alaskan wildlife among world-renowned scenery. Traverse the ever-changing river delta, look out for on spawning salmon, and listen to thundering waterfalls. See the sparkling blue icebergs of Shakes Lake, and enjoy a delicious light lunch on board.

Practical information

  • Remarks/requirements: The tour route and sights may change due to conditions. You may experience quick or sudden stops, starts and turns while underway. Please wear warm layers and comfortable walking shoes. Outhouses are available at the wilderness location. This excursion is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or other health issues, or for guests that are prone to motion sickness. Guests must be over 8 years of age.

  • Included: Snack (Alaskan smoked salmon or substitute, wine and cheese)

  • Walking information: Involves limited physical activity. Most of the tour is conducted by vehicle. There is an approximately 300-ft walk from the ship to the jetboat. The ramp to the boat can be steep at low tide.
