The Kunsthalle’s collection covers a spectrum of works ranging from the Dürer period to international contemporary art. It comprises around 1,100 paintings, 300 sculptures, more than 30,000 works in the Prints and Drawings Collection, and photographs and video works. Regularly changing showcase exhibitions of the Kunsthalle’s holdings from all areas of the collection are an integral part of the exhibition programme. The collection of the Kunsthalle zu Kiel holds a wealth of works behind which lie fascinating stories.
