A calm sense of arrival
From the 2026/2027 season, Antarctica suite guests departing from Ushuaia will enjoy an exclusive pre-expedition experience at the Arakur Resort & Spa. Set high in the Cerro Alarkén Nature Reserve, Arakur overlooks Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel, offering stylish interiors, panoramic views, and a calm sense of arrival before you venture south.
In the native Yámana language of the indigenous people of Tierra del Fuego, 'Arakur' means cliff. Opened in early 2014, the resort combines refined comfort, sweeping views, and a singular sense of place at the end of the world.
On arrival in Ushuaia, our team will greet you and arrange your transfer to the resort. Your main luggage will be transported directly to the pier for embarkation, so you only need your personal items for the day — allowing you to relax completely into the experience.
Your day at Arakur
You will be welcomed with a warm reception. Next, savour a gourmet lunch showcasing the finest Patagonian flavours, served in an elegant dining room overlooking the dramatic landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.
Afterwards, the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Join our expert guides for a walk in the Cerro Alarkén Nature Reserve — an opportunity to immerse yourself in the raw beauty and wilderness of Patagonia — or simply relax in the hotel's luxurious spa. Enjoy complimentary access to the pools and saunas, or unwind by the panoramic indoor-outdoor pool, a perfect way to rejuvenate after travelling.
Should you wish to enhance your spa experience with signature treatments or massages, these can be arranged directly with the hotel at an additional cost and are subject to availability.
Please remember to pack your swimsuit in your hand luggage to fully enjoy the spa facilities, as well as hiking shoes in case you want to join the guided nature walk.
A seamless transition from land to ship
As a suite guest, you will enjoy an enhanced check-in experience that is both quicker and more comfortable, with dedicated assistance and a streamlined process separate from the main guest arrival flow. You will also have dedicated medical personnel for your health screening, ensuring an effortless experience that reduces stress and gives you more time to relax and enjoy Arakur.
The remote check-in process means everything is handled behind the scenes while you enjoy the resort, making your transition from land to ship as smooth and effortless as possible.
When you check in, your passport will remain with you until you arrive at the ship. You will then be asked to hand it in at Reception on your way to your cabin. This is required for customs checks and forms part of our embarkation policy. Your passport will be returned to you before disembarkation.
A dedicated transfer will take you to the pier for embarkation, where your adventure begins. This is the final departure to the ship, meaning you can enjoy more time relaxing by the pool or taking in the panoramic views at Arakur before boarding — arriving calm, refreshed, and stress free.
