Join the Alderney Wildlife Trust on a selection of walks which showcase the island’s wildlife and vibrant history. 

Perhaps we’ll take a cliff walk past carpets of spring gorse and wildflowers to see the remarkable offshore gannet colony, home to nearly 6,000 pairs in the breeding season. Or maybe you’ll discover Western Europe’s best-preserved 4th century Roman fort, scouting for Glanville fritillary butterflies and grey seals along the way.

In true expedition style, routes can vary. More information will be available on board during your voyage.  

Practical information

  • Remarks/requirements: Please dress according to the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Walk options will be advised on board. 

  • Walking or Activity information: Walks vary, but some involve physical activity on uneven surfaces and/or steep terrain and may not be suitable if you have limited mobility. Walk to the gannet colony is approx. 4-5 mi with a steep incline.  

  • Wheelchair accessible: No
