Nature-to-table meals highlighting fresh, seasonal flavours.
Visit Qassiarsuk with an expert UNESCO guide.
Day 1: Your Greenland experience begins with a scenic boat ride to the country’s only natural forest. From there, you’ll hike to the campsite, learning about the area’s unique ecosystem along the way. You’ll forage for local herbs to be used in your meals, then set out on a challenging yet rewarding hike beside the beautiful Qinngua River, passing waterfalls and untouched valleys.
Back at camp, savour a hearty, local meal by the fire, flavoured with the herbs you gathered. Share stories beneath the Greenlandic sky before settling into your tent for the night.
Day 2: After breakfast, you’ll take a short hike back through the forest before boarding a boat to Qassiarsuk, where a UNESCO guide brings the area’s history to life. A coffee stop at a local café follows, then a boat ride to Qaqortoq. Weather permitting, you’ll cruise through one of the region’s dramatic fjords for glacier views before returning to the ship.
Note: In true expedition-style, this experience is flexible and designed to adapt to weather conditions and the groups’ interests, ensuring a memorable and personalized experience in South Greenland’s wild and welcoming landscape.
*While we're excited to share the unique flavours of this region with you, it’s important to note that allergy awareness and hygiene standards can vary widely across the world. The local community providing food for this tour may not be as familiar with allergy concerns or preparation standards as suppliers in your home country or the expert chefs onboard our ships. As a precaution, we advise anyone with a severe food allergy to contact a member of the onboard Expedition Team before booking this excursion.
