The English Way or Camino Inglés, one of the oldest routes to the tomb of Saint James, was shaped by medieval pilgrims to avoid the dangerous overland journey. Transfer by coach toward the coastal settlements of Cabanas and Pontedeume. With a local guide, walk part of the English Way crossing the iconic arched bridge into picturesque Pontedeume. Pause at Pontedeume to admire the historic architecture where pilgrims have been welcomed for centuries. Continue the walk through rural scenery with viewpoints, small villages and wooded paths.
Praktisk information
Remarks/requirements: Involves physical activity on uneven surfaces and/or steep terrain. You may be expected to carry your own backpack and equipment. Not suitable if you have limited mobility.
Walking or Activity information: The walk will cover approx. 5-7km split into two sections over trails with inclines, time to explore Pontedeume and short coach transfers between the sections.
