Insight into traditions 

Qaanaaq is one of the few places where hunting by kayak is still part of everyday life. On this tour, you can take a closer look at a traditional Inuit kayak, learn how it’s made, and find out why locals still use them to find food today. Then you’ll accompany your local guide on a paddle between the ice floes.

  • Included: Hunting explanation and kayak excursion with local guide. 

  • Remarks/requirements: This is a kayak excursion on Arctic waters. A safety briefing, safety equipment, and kayaks are provided.      

  • Walking and activity information: Includes 1 to 2 hours of paddling. Guests must know how to swim, be comfortable in deep water, and speak English.
