Discover Norway’s unique culture and outdoor way of life on this action-packed four-day Pre-Progamme.
  • Be immersed in Norway’s breathtaking nature and experience the county’s iconic outdoor lifestyle, known as friluftsliv

  • Experience Sámi culture over an open fire

  • Try dog sledding through the snowy wilderness

Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø

After arriving at Tromsø airport, you’ll be transferred to the hotel which will be your base for the next three nights. In the evening join us for Sámi storytelling and reindeer feeding. In a traditional lavvu, or Sámi tent, you’ll gather around the open fire to hear stories about the way of life of the Indigenous Sámi people, their beliefs and history. You’ll then taste traditional Sámi food cooked right in front of you over the fire. You’re then invited to feed the reindeer that graze nearby and learn about reindeer herding, including the art of lasso throwing. You’ll even get to make your own keepsake from shed reindeer antlers.

Day 2-3:  Enjoy Norway’s great outdoors

Over the next two days, you’ll enjoy a selection of classic activities which give you great insight into the Norwegian outdoor lifestyle and culture.

You can also try dog sledding and lead a team of huskies through the soul-stirring Arctic wilderness. Together with your partner, you’ll learn how to drive your husky team and take turns holding the reins as you glide across the snow-dusted landscape. After, you can warm up with snacks by the open fire. Cosy thermal clothing is provided.

After check-out on day 3, you’ll be transferred to the port where your expedition ship awaits.

Please note that the order of sites may vary.
